Members of the Gorge Handweavers Guild and Columbia Fibres Guild gathered on Jan. 16 in Odell for the cutting ceremony of 17 yards of handwoven fabric. The textile will be used to upholster custom chairs and benches at the historic Timberline Lodge. Presidents of the Gorge Handweavers Guild and Fibres Guild, Ruth Dye and Nancy Skakel, were in attendance, as were about a dozen other guild members. A fateful field trip to the lodge set up a collaboration between the guilds and Timberline. And now, after the cutting ceremony, members of the guild have agreed to produce another 20 yards of materials to Timberline.
