PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — Two people are dead following an accident in Pittsylvania County, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office said a piece of farming equipment came into contact with a power line Thursday afternoon, killing two people.
According to deputies, deputies were first dispatched to Dry Fork Road for the report of a structure fire, but they found two unresponsive men when they arrived.

“Both victims were unresponsive were pronounced deceased at the scene,” PCSO said. “Evidence from the initial investigation leads Investigators to that the agricultural equipment being used by the victims accidentally made contact with high voltage lines.”
Officials identified the victims as 24-year-old Juan Arizmendi and 67-year-old Phillip Hylton. PCSO said both victims were taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office where the cause and manner of death will be officially determined.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and community,” PCSO said.
