HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio — A man has died following a mining accident that occurred Wednesday morning in Harrison County.
Sean Donato, the assistant fire chief of the Hopedale Fire Department, said the incident took place at a coal mine located between New Athens and Cadiz on Ohio 9. Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 9:30 a.m.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
